Job Description

As a labour relations expert member of our PCW (HR) department, you will lead day to day interactions with our Berlin Works Council and align local & global priorities on a strategic level.

This is a hybrid role reporting directly to the Head of Global Employee Relations and the office is based in Berlin.

Be aware that this is a hybrid role (2-3 days in the office), therefore you will have to come to our offices based in Berlin.

The ideal candidate has extensive track record working in the field of employment law and working with Works Councils in an autonomous way. You will be comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders, conflicting priorities and dynamic timelines and will succeed through their engaging and collaborative style along with proven and relevant experience.

What you'll do:

Your scope of responsibilities will cover our German market while being part of a global Employee Relations team. These include: 

  • Legal Compliance in personal and collective relations

  • Legal expertise: You will provide in-depth knowledge of German labour laws related to the establishment and functioning of Works Councils and provide advice to our PCW (HR) and business teams

  • Documentation & Processes: You will help draft the necessary documentation with legal requirements and support in setting up the governance process between the Works Council and the different PCW (HR) teams

  • Negotiation and partner management

  • You can prepare and lead all regular meetings with autonomy.

  • You will provide input and guidance on labour relations strategy, preparing and negotiating collective bargaining agreements, coordinating consultations with the Works Council, maintaining understanding of local & global PCW (HR)

  • Training and Education - You will set up training sessions for both management and employees to educate them on the purpose, functions, and benefits of a Works Council. You will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills to internal stakeholders for sustainable management of Works Council affairs in the long term.

  • Strategic Contribution - Your strategic insights will help shape the global labour relations strategy. By actively participating in its implementation, you will help cultivate a positive social climate across the organisation, ensuring a harmonious relationship between employees and management.

Who you are:

  • 6 to 8 years of previous experience in an HR Department

  • At least 2 years experience working with works councils

  • Native level of German and high level of English

  • Interested in a temporary position (1 year)
