Job Description

At Marktplaats we are currently looking for a Head of Advertiser Success for the Benelux. This is an exciting leadership role in which you will be responsible for shaping the future of our Advertisers’ Success of Marktplaats, 2dehands and 2ememain. You will play a critical role in identifying new commercial opportunities and building new relevant solutions for our users and partners. You will lead the Advertiser Success Team which is part of the Advertising Team Benelux. You will work closely together with our Sales teams in The Netherlands and Belgium as well as our Product team. 

Be aware that this is a hybrid role (2-3 days in the office), reporting directly to the Head of Advertising Benelux, therefore you will have to come to our offices based in Amsterdam.

We are looking for someone who understands the content & is able to connect the various areas of the team in one bigger overall strategy and showcase leadership on the topic both in the company and in the market. An experienced leader with a deep understanding of the advertising ecosystem and the relevant players. You are a people manager who keeps calm & optimistic when faced with uncertainty and setbacks. Ideally someone who pushes the envelope of what we can / want to do with data, Adtech and yield in order to make advertisers more successful. In this role, team/talent management, stakeholder management & strong communication skills are key. The role is a combination of leadership, strategic, analytical, commercial and technical skills.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Advertisers Success Team which consist of 7 professionals in various disciplines: Ad Operations, Yield, Data, Trade Marketing and AdTech. 

  • Create a vision for Advertiser Success and present it in an inspiring and data driven manner. 

  • Deliver against revenue goals in a customer and user focused manner.

  • Coach and develop direct reports - identifying development needs and utilising available resources to develop individuals.

  • Communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities effectively.

  • Achieve high levels of motivation and engagement of team members.

  • Establish a culture where long term development is balanced with ownership.

  • Set and communicate quarterly objectives with the team that align with company goals.

  • Development of reporting and analytics to create insight and recommendations for improvement and positive change within the team.

  • Drive the launch of new revenue initiatives that capitalise on new market opportunities or technical developments.

  • Work closely together with and develop joint market approaches with the Head of Sales for The Netherlands and and the Head of Sales for Belgium. 

  • Shaping the data, display and AdSense product development roadmap.

  • Leverage 3rd party relationships to strengthen the advertising value proposition.

  • Act as a role model, as a leader supporting our core values and behaviours.

  • Build effective relationships with Marketing, Business, Legal, Finance, Analytics and Product teams and foster a collaborative, open approach to share best practices across Adevinta. 

  • Industry networking: represent Marktplaats and 2dehands / 2ememain at relevant industry events and be an active participant in relevant external forums.

  • Be a leader that will inspire stakeholders to deliver against the strategic goals we set within the Advertiser Success Team.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years’ experience in digital advertising and 8+ years’ experience in people management.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or related fields.

  • Proven track record of building and inspiring teams 

  • Network of senior executives within media agencies and advertisers.

  • In-depth operational understanding of digital advertising and its technologies.

  • Deep understanding of digital advertising competitive/market landscape.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
