Job Description

Join our company as a Commercial Partner Manager, working on one of the most famous and visited platforms in The Netherlands and Belgium. In this commercial role, you will create and execute a partner strategy with the aim of growing the business through existing and new partners. Our partner landscape consists of technical (API & SaaS) partners who make it possible to advertise automatically on our platform and marketing partners who manage the budgets of entrepreneurs active on our platforms. We are looking for a fluent Dutch and English speaking candidate.

About the team

This role is located within the SMB team of Marktplaats and 2dehands. Our team focuses on Small and Medium sized businesses (SMBs) to become successful on our platforms. More than 90,000+ SMBs are currently successful active on our platforms.

You will report into the Head of Sales SMB.

The role can be performed in a hybrid manner, where you are also expected to be present a lot with partners and in the office to form, test and develop your ideas.

What you’ll do

  • Strategy: Create and execute a commercial partner strategy to grow the business through our partners.

  • Growth business: Set up a commercial framework with existing commercial and technical partners and ensure that our collaboration grows through setting the right incentives.

  • New partnerships: Start partnerships with new partners which add value to our sellers or additional exposure to our opportunities for advertisers and marketers.

  • Analytical: Work together with our sales analysts to track your success and discover together where the opportunities lie.

  • Collaboration: Team up with other commercial teams within the organization to expand existing collaborations and develop new opportunities

  • Representative: Go out externally to develop ideas and represent Marktplaats

Who you are

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in E-commerce and/or media landscape.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.

  • Commercial minded: Naturally focused on identifying business opportunities and maximizing value for both our company and our partners.

  • Market knowledge: Understand the partner landscape and where your priority should be.

  • Result focused: Always go for measurable results and realize strategic goals.

  • Initiator: Be experienced in creating and implementing a commercial strategy.

  • Commercial optimization skills: You are able to analyze, strategically plan and improve existing commercial relationships to generate maximum value from the partnerships.

  • Communication: Listen (before) talking. Activate people inside and outside the team.

  • Solution-oriented: A can do mindset with the ability to think critically, handle ambiguity, and navigate challenges proactively.
